It seems like a million years ago now, but it was only a couple of months since Amnesia closed their doors for the 2012 season. These Amnesia closing parties definitely look like the best to go to out of all the closing parties, i certainly wouldn’t complain if i found myself on the terrace in the day light listening to some quality tunes! Though it does look rather busy!

The Ibiza ‘Sit Down’

If you have been to the island this year, you have probably seen it, if you are going this year, you will see it!

You may have noticed that at some point during the night, everyone sits down on the dance floor (apart from the spannered guy that doesn’t know what’s going on!) and then on queue, usually by the dj, they jump up and down being very happy!

It seems to be happening every ware this season, some times promoted by the Dj (im thinking Ibiza Rocks here) which is usually pap because you have been asked to do it, but a lot of the time, completely random, its something most people join in on and you can’t argue that it looks really good!

However, although this is sweeping dance floors in Ibiza this season, it’s not the first time it has happened! Its been going on for years in DC10 with Magda, the best and probably the first video i saw of it was in 2007!

Anyway, the rest of the island has caught on, the people from DC10 5 years ago that started it of will probably be hating it now its caught on!!

Amazing Or An Abomination?

Over the last couple of years Pop hip hop / rap / pop as been given a bit more of a Dance orientated beat, I don’t want to say it has been made into dance music as i don’t believe it is dance music!

The likes of Kelly Rowland, The Black Eyed Peas, Jennifer Lopez, Flo Rida, Rihanna, Lil’ Wayne, Taio Cruz, Tinie Tempah and Snoop Dogg have all had massive exposure in the UK trying pass off their music as Dance music.

For me, a trip to Ibiza is all about the new sounds, the new tracks, it’s about spending a week or two hearing music h haven’t heard before.

This is what i hate about all the collaborations going on, it’s the music you hear on the radio all day, its nothing special yet people who are not into dance music believe this is dance music and it’s what Ibiza is like.

I hate the commercialism people like David Guetta is pushing in Ibiza, Hotel pools will be playing better music than he is.

Because of all this, i stay away from him and his nights and im happy with that. The stories and videos that come from his nights however just show how massively popular watching play his album is so he not going to stop now.

he question is, what do you think? Check out the video below, ts got a hell of a lot of people crammed in looking like they are having the time of their life, i personally couldn’t imagine anything worse.

Oh, and see if you can spot Usha being caught out mining!

Es Paradis Opening 2011

The 20th May will see the opening of Es Paradis for the summer season.

Es Paradis hasn’t been at the forefront of people’s clubbing plans since the days of Clockwork Orange which is a great shame, Inside it’s an amazing place to party and it has a lot to offer, i try to make a visit whenever i can especially if i am with friends that have never been to Ibiza before, Its definitely a club everyone should see.

From what i have read so far Es Paradis looks set to have a good year and the opening party should be a cracking start. Good Music, Dancers, Acrobats and performers, all joined by a crowd of people who understand how cool Ibiza is in May
