They have decided after 6 years not to continue with Meganite not only in Privilege but in Ibiza. They will be trying out something new with their label Alchemy.

Mauro Picotto has always done well in Ibiza without always being the buzz night on the island. When he played at Godskitchen @ Amnesia it was guaranteed a packed house. He moved on from their to start Meganite in Privilege, a brave move with a venue so big but they made it work and over the coming years the area got bigger and bigger.

There may be no more Meganite but you can always count on Mauro to put on a party and im sure his new labels night will be a night you cant afford to miss.

However it seems that the after hours scene is still alive and partying! a few reports from people who have been to the island have said that now they are banned there is a lot more advertising for them, they are not in the main stream clubs they are still happening in small bars and villas around the island.

However the police are making an attempt to stop them. El Club in Ibiza town has for the last 2 weeks been operating as an after hours venue but this week it was raided at 10am, a few people were arrested and the owner was fined. In another story the La Troya after party was raided by police who brought along a TV crew, however after the police left the party continued further down the road!

So it sounds like the after hours are definitely there if you can get to them!

Club Azuli have announced that they will be putting on a second secret beach party in Ibiza after the phenomenal success of the first one in early June. Crowds of the cool and the colourful in Ibiza took out their maps and followed the trail to the secret beach location where they partied while the sun went down and then carried on into the night. Now, with rumours reverberating around the island about this unforgettable party, no one wants to miss out on the next one. Never ones to disappoint, Beach Azuli is back on 8th July at a new, stunning location and with plenty more surprises in store…

One big surprise at the first party was the line up which included the inimitable Crazy P playing live and DJing. As if this wasn’t enough, Groove Armada’s legendary Andy Cato turned up behind the decks to deliver an incredible Balearic set which he seemed to enjoy as much as the hundreds of clubbers facing him with hands in the air. If you’re wondering what the party was like, Andy summed up the vibe and excitement perfectly,

DC10 attracts 1000′s of people every year to the island and they also have companies chartering flights to get out there for new year. DC10 has been open all winter doing parties and event organisers are gutted that the authorities have now decided to enforce this now.

looking at it from the authorities point of view they have obviously gone for maximum impact, they aloud the club to open and now they are shutting it down. 2 months of the summer season is almost all of it so if you want to get there this year you will have to start planning for September.

DC is not the only club though, a source close to Amnesia have revealed that they also fear another closing order as happened last year amnesia was forced to close during the summer because of laws that were broken in earlier years!

If it stays shut for the whole duration we will have to wait and see, last year they didn’t close for the whole order so maybe they will have a work around.

Its obviously devastating news for people going to the island in the next 60 days but wait and see, maybe Circo Loco will find a temporary home but im sure for the people that love it DC10 is the only home in Ibiza

We Love@ Space Opening – LIVE BROADCAST

This means that the clubs in Ibiza are now restricted to opening times between 4.30pm and 6am

There was some mention about no sound systems being aloud on the beach as well though this but has not been explained properly, There seems to be a little confusion weather it means beach bars or people throwing parties on the beach and bringing there own sound!

Either way Ibiza has now changed for some people though im still looking forward to geting there this year with or without morning opening times!

::UPDATE::

San Antonio have not followed suit with the opening times being restricted to 4.30. Clubs and bars in San Antonio are aloud to open at 12 noon, San Antonio council said that because the cafes and bars fell under the same law as the nightclubs they didnt want to restrict the bars to play music after 4.30.

This is good news as now Mar M, Iticia and specially Orange corner can put music on from 12 noon.
