DC will be smashing its door open for the start of the 2012 season on the 28th May 2012.

This date inst a surprise as its become the usual date for the Ibiza season to start, it fits with the end of the Ibiza Music Summit and it will no doubt be the same weekend as the Space opening Party.

Ive been out for this weekend and taken in the DC10 opening party, its easily one of the best weekends of the summer and i would always recommend experiencing the opening weekend at least once!

As and when info is released, i will update this post accordingly. Only 20 weeks to go!!

The Ibiza ‘Sit Down’

If you have been to the island this year, you have probably seen it, if you are going this year, you will see it!

You may have noticed that at some point during the night, everyone sits down on the dance floor (apart from the spannered guy that doesn’t know what’s going on!) and then on queue, usually by the dj, they jump up and down being very happy!

It seems to be happening every ware this season, some times promoted by the Dj (im thinking Ibiza Rocks here) which is usually pap because you have been asked to do it, but a lot of the time, completely random, its something most people join in on and you can’t argue that it looks really good!

However, although this is sweeping dance floors in Ibiza this season, it’s not the first time it has happened! Its been going on for years in DC10 with Magda, the best and probably the first video i saw of it was in 2007!

Anyway, the rest of the island has caught on, the people from DC10 5 years ago that started it of will probably be hating it now its caught on!!

DC10 Opening Tickets

This year DC10 and Circo Loco open their doors on the 30th May, I think this is pretty much cemented as the permanent opening weekend now as it ties in with too much other stuff for it to be moved round freely.

Anyway, You can now purchase your tickets for the Circo Loco opening party, I went to it last year and all the ticket outlets stopped selling tickets the day before the event saying it had sold out, so make sure you get your ticket if you want to go. Last year, they were letting people in on the door though the club was completely rammed to breaking point so it wasn’t a guaranteed entry.

Info is very sparse as it always is at the start of the year, however Ibiza Spotlight are reporting that Circo Loco will be opening on the 30th May in 2011. Matthias Tanzmann has go the date listed on Myspace as the opening party.

This date is concrete for me and its exactly the date i expect Circo Loco to kick of their season. With the success of the Ibiza Music Summit this weekend is the obvious choice for the first clubs to start opening.

With the Space opening party happening for the two days beforehand it is a great way to kick-start the season.

Other parties i expect to see will be the Zoo Project on the Saturday and possibly David Guetta around that time if he continues this season.

If you have not been to Ibiza for the very start of the season before i would recommend it to anyone. Last year in 2010 i was out there for an extra long weekend over the space and DC10 opening and its a really exciting time to make a visit and be involved in the first major parties of the summer season.

For the opening party DC10 will be opening at Noon on Monday 30th May.

If you feel like a bit of Crazy Circus action this Christmas, then you actually have a few options. Firstly, you can take a trip to Sankeys in Manchester on Boxing day.

Circoloco New Era Opening Party @ DC10

48 hours ago Circo Loco arrived back in Ibiza! DC10 opened its doors at midday for what should be a full season in one of the most spoken about nights in Ibiza.

On the roundabout and road going to DC10 there was a heavy police presence with lots of cars and bikes being pulled over and searched, i know police have had a presence outside before but i’ve never seen anything like that before in Ibiza.

Arriving at the club there wasn’t any queues outside so we walked straight in. As soon as you got in it was rammed, the outside bar area was busy but manageable. We headed to the inside room first off as they wasn’t allowing people on the terrace because it was already full, The main room was also very busy but there was enough room to get into the night.

After a couple of hours we headed over to the terrace which was a waste of time, they had let so many people in it was just one massive fight to try to move anywhere which was a shame, it made it impossible to stand in one place without being shoved around. We abandoned that idea and spent the rest of the night inside DC10.

The Biggest Ibiza Club Nights of 2010

With the 2010 Ibiza clubbing season drawing in fast the usual scramble for the clubs to finalise their lineups and get us hot under the collars with the prospect of ‘special guests’ is well underway. But with announcements and lineups flying from all directions at this time of year its easy to miss the really big stuff so here’s my attempt at singling out the parties which I think are shaping up to make the biggest splash in 2010.

Space opening weekend
No great surprises the Space opening party is going to be big but in what I believe must be an Ibiza first Space are stretching their opening ‘fiesta’ over 2 days. If this translates to success in terms of ticket sales it wouldn’t surprise me if more big clubs and promoters in Ibiza try the same formula next year.

Deadmau5 at Cream, amnesia
With it’s usual powerhouse duo of residents PVD and Ferry Corsten returning to headline Cream 2010 this nights guaranteed to be as big as ever on Thursdays at Amnesia but it’s the nights with Deadmau5 hosting the terrace that we think are going to be massive. This guys had an incredible 12 months and recently sold out Brixton at £40/ticket so catching him in the backroom at Amnesia for €40 with Ferry in the other rooms got to be the biggest bargain in Ibiza this summer! Look out for Deadmau5 hosting the mixmag terrace from the 12th August onwards.

Circo Loco @ DC-10
Ibiza’s black sheep is back on the White isle in 2010. Circo Loco was the dirty little secret of the Ibiza scene until DC-10 got on the wrong side of the authorities. They did one night last year and have announced an opening party for the 31st May 2010 which everyone’s hoping to precede a full season of parties.

Dizzee Rascal at Ibiza Rocks
Genre defying Dizzee is my pick of the Ibiza Rocks 2010 lineup. This guy puts on a great show, he loves Ibiza and Ibiza Rocks is the type of crowd he can whip up into a bizarre indie/ dance/ hip-hop induced frenzy. Florence and the Machine and Ian Brown are my other picks for Ibiza Rocks this year.

Glas at Es Paradis
One of the most important developments in Ibiza’s gay scene in the last few years sees Birmingham’s Glas brand front and centre in San Antonio at Es Paradis. With an opening party scheduled for 17th June (same night as Cream opening) I’ll be interested to see how this night fares.

Hed Kandi moving (again) to Es Paradis
Hed Kandi’s not everyones cup of tea but Es Paradis is the perfect venue for the funky house night where it can pull in passing traffic from the West End. This nights moved 3 times in 2 years which has got to be some sort of record! If its going to find a home anywhere on Ibiza surely Es Paradis will be it. Opening party set for 12th June.

Lets not forget – Radio 1 weekend
As ever this will be a hugely busy weekend in Ibiza 2010. Looking at the calendar its likely to take place on the weekend of 30th July this year – get your Ibiza Ibiza hotels booked now:-)

Ive already discussed this in a previous post, but Circo Loco have revealed their line-up for the opening party in 30 days time!

DC10 will open at 12 noon for the first time in over a year. There is no doubt the place is going to be rammed, the popularity of Circo Loco and DC10 is apparent to see.

As we all know DC10 and Circo Loco did not play a part in the 2009 Ibiza Season. A court ruling meant they were closed down for constantly exceeding the licensed capacity of the club.

For a lot of people DC 10 was the only reason to go to Ibiza, i think that’s being extremely short-sighted but that’s the way it was.

The 31st May is the day Circo Loco come back to the island and DC10 opens its doors once again! Im not really sure about the legality of it all as in the past it has seemed impossible for the club in its location to be granted the relevant licence to operate.

Despite this, it seems DC10 will be opening once again! WHats more suprising is that it is advertising that it will open at Midday.

In an interview with Ibiza Spotlight Andrea Pelino has set out his plans for the 2010 season, It is being promoted as a New Era, this means new resident Dj’s and a new start. You can expect to hear real underground deep house. In 2010 you can expect to hear Seth Troxler, Zip, Jamie Jones, DJ W!LD, Tania Vulcano, Clive Henry, Timo Maas, Arpiar, Matthias Tanzmann, Damian Lazarus and Villalobos

After the opening party Circo Loco will be open every weekend.
