No… Thank you Mambo!

Ibiza Rocks are already however, busy planning next year. The Hotel opens from the 15th May with weekly gigs taking place from the 6th June for 17 weeks. You can expect the usual top class lineup every Wednesday throughout the summer and if your staying at the hotel the your gig ticket is already included in the price.

New for 2012 are Saturday nights, if bands are not completely your thing you can go to the hotel on a Saturday to see a top class range of Dj’s playing on the main stage next to the pool. Last year, people like Annie Mac and FatBoy Slim played in the hotel, other dates that stick in my mind in the past is Stave Angello with his Size Matters party.

The Ibiza Rocks house will be staying on for next year which is Pikes hotel, If you have a little bit more money to spend on your accommodation, then the Ibiza Rocks House is definitely worth considering, the house its self is steeped in Ibiza tales of celebrity debauchery! The house plays host to a private after party for the main gig every week which has a strict invite only policy and staying at the house gets you that privilege.

Another new addition for 2012 (i think) is the Ibiza Rocks Hostel, think of it as Ibiza rocks hotel on a budget! It’s not far from the hotel and you still get all the access to the hotel as the hotel guests but its a bit cheaper and the rooms sleep 3 people.

Also in 2012, the Boat parties will be continuing, i haven’t been on the Ibiza Rocks boat party myself but if you love Ibiza Rocks then im sure its worth the effort, and don’t forget the after party, all gig tickets will again get you into the after party which still seems to be in Es Pardise. I personally have had a mixed bag when it comes to the after parties, the first one i went to was top-notch, great Dj’s and a variety of music and rooms to keep you busy. My second trip, was not much to write about, the music was a disappointment for me and the crowd just didn’t seem to get into it, maybe it was just a bad week.

And finally… if your still with me and reading this! The Ibiza Rocks Bar, it’s on the beach in San Antonio and it used to be Bar M, Again, another mixed bag for me, The bar itself is great, its been a firm fixture of San Antonio for as long as i can recall. If you want a fresh drink during the day, this is your place, if you want some great food, whether its breakfast or lunch, then this is DEFINITELY your place, for the money the food they are serving is brilliant, ive tried lots of the menu now and ive never been disappointed. The music policy in the bar has changed from Bar M, naturally, for me personally it was all just a bit indy overload, which was a shame because it stopped me spending more time in the bar, especially as a pre party venue as if im getting ready for a night out, i didn’t want to listen to indy music to get me in the mood!

Ibiza rocks will be back in 2012 bigger than ever before!

Ibiza Rocks 2012

Between the 23rd and 28th July Electronique which is run by Si Heslin will be throwing a host of parties across different venues in Ibiza. Electronique is a night born in Manchester and has had plenty of very successful nights in Sankeys Manchester and around the UK. Electronique plays deep and soulful tech house music and in a couple of weeks will be taking over Ibiza.

They kick of their tour playing the Zoo Project boat party which is generally considered one of the best boat parties to go on, they will also take on Hush, a pool party at Kanya and what must be the pinnacle of this trip for them, they will be taking over the Red Room @ Space on the 27th July which is also a Northern Lights Night which would make this an amazing night to go to.

Electronique In Ibiza 2011

We have made a commitment to each other to have it as large as humanly possible and I promise you all that I will bring describe it to you in as much delicious detail as I (legally) can!!

The definates are Circo Loco @ DC10, Be @ Space, Cream @ Amnesia, Zoo Project. I am of course allowing for a few nights of spontaneity to see where the island takes me. I will also try to check out Sankeys and feel that I have missed out on the Fiesta del Agua in the past so will try to write up what a night at that landmark party is like.

The party still goes on but it’s never quite the same, I went down a couple of nights last year and it was rammed, Spiderman was doing his shift and the music was good, but it seemed so different!

This year, Bora Bora will be opening on Friday 20th May with Oliver Lang, I’m not sure if the closing date is accurate or that it means Oliver lang is there every week but the event page on Oliver Langs myspace  it has a closing of October 3rd.
