Armada @ Amnesia 2010

Posted by Gary on Monday 26 April 2010

Armin Van Burren will continue his world domination this year in one of my favourite nights in Ibiza which is Armada@Amnesia. Tuesdays will be shared again this year with Roger Sanchez who will be hosting the Terrace with his Release Yourself parties.

If your somebody that’s not really sure what nights you want to go to in Ibiza then this could be a great night to visit Amnesia. The main room is the perfect setting for trance, Cream is a very successful night but i think Armada is a better night, mainly down to the crowd that is in there for an Armada night. If you decide trance isn’t your thing then you could also say the new terrace is perfect for a Dj like Roger Sanchez, if you then decided you didnt like this as well, then id probably get the next flight home!!

Circo Loco @ DC10

Posted by Gary on Friday 23 April 2010

As we all know DC10 and Circo Loco did not play a part in the 2009 Ibiza Season. A court ruling meant they were closed down for constantly exceeding the licensed capacity of the club.

For a lot of people DC 10 was the only reason to go to Ibiza, i think that’s being extremely short-sighted but that’s the way it was.

AnjunaBeach Ibiza 2010

Posted by Gary on Thursday 22 April 2010

I have a big soft spot for Above and Beyond, ive followed them since they very first came on the scene. This year they are spending all their time in the studio and because of this they are only scheduled to do one night in Ibiza this year.

The night they have chosen is the 1st July for Cream @ Amnesia. AnjunaBeach is a concept they reserve for very special parties which they started in 2007 when they held an AnjunBeach party in Goa. In Cream they will be playing a 3 hour set with support from other Dj’s on the Anjuna label. The night will also be used as the launch party for Anjunabeats Volume 8 which is a much antisipated album release, The Anjunabeats albums never failed to satisfy.

Judgement Sundays 2010 Promo Video

Posted by Gary on Thursday 22 April 2010

Judgement Sundays has been the main night in San Antonio for a long time now! With Judge Jules at the helm it is a very popular night with the British tourists on the island. The list of Dj’s that have played there is endless, the likes of Deadmau5, Eddie Halliwell, Ferry Corsten to name only a few.

I have no doubt that 2010 will be another packed year in Eden and im sure Judge Jules will make use of the new layout of Eden. You can expect a night of trance and harder edged music in the main room, you can usually find Jules doing a funky set in the back room and if you don’t fancy the night then check out the pre parties that will be dotted around the island.

Space Opening Head liners 2010

Posted by Gary on Thursday 15 April 2010

I’ve blogged a lot about it already  but today brought more news about the Space opening party, I have already spoke about Fat Boy Slim headlining the Saturday but now it has been revealed that Carl Cox will be headlining the Sunday.

Carl Cox has his own night in space every summer and it is a night I’ve never heard a bad word about so it was probably natural that he would feature in the opening party line-up. Personally I’m hoping Carl will be doing two sets on the day, an outdoor set followed by an indoor set.

Other Dj’s have been announced for the weekend including Chris Liebing, Pete Tong, Mark Knight, Steve Lawler, Tiefschwarz.

For the full line-up see my blog post Space Opening Party 2010

If you like your house to be Defected then this is the place for you this summer. The lineup is always kept fresh every year and although its not a night ive been to myself it is always a possibility and definitely a night i would visit.

No Meganite Ibiza in 2010

Posted by Gary on Tuesday 6 April 2010

I have no more details on this apart from what has just come through on Mauri Picotto’s twitter page.

They have decided after 6 years not to continue with Meganite not only in Privilege but in Ibiza. They will be trying out something new with their label Alchemy.

Mauro Picotto has always done well in Ibiza without always being the buzz night on the island. When he played at Godskitchen @ Amnesia it was guaranteed a packed house. He moved on from their to start Meganite in Privilege, a brave move with a venue so big but they made it work and over the coming years the area got bigger and bigger.

There may be no more Meganite but you can always count on Mauro to put on a party and im sure his new labels night will be a night you cant afford to miss.
